Default Fault code 22 - knock sensor

Over the last week or so have been getting CEL come on sporadically and with no obvious pattern. Checked the error code and it's 22 - knock sensor.

Can someone tell me what part number I need to order? Car is a 1998 Sti Version 4 Type R. I have so far found two numbers listed that seem to cover this car:

22060-AA061
22060-AA070

Anyone got/know of a guide to changing the knock sensor?

Cheers,

Just under intercooler, one bolt on top of block. Unclip and reverse. Not sure on part number. Easy enough job but not much room.

Oh cool so don't have to take the intercooler off, which is nice. Just got to find the right part number now. Where should I actually buy the sensor? Pattern parts OK for this? Or does it need to be genuine Subaru?

Worth giving the ECU a reset before you shell out for one. I had code 22 about 2 years ago. Reset the ECU and it never came back.

I haven't even thought about doing that, definitely worth a try. Is it just a case of unplugging battery for half an hour or do I have to do something with the green / black connectors?

Pretty sure its the green and black connectors, although though I have a data monitor, so reset through that. Saying that, I had my battery off overnight, and it felt like the ECU was in learning mode for a while. Not sure how long it does need to be off though.

Check out the ECU section on http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/ECU
