Default Tight right hander fuel starvation?

Was driving shall we say less than conservatively today around a tight right hand bend when the car seemed to cut out for a second or so. A pop and a bang later and all was fine and dandy again.
Am i right in thinking that this could be the the fuel pump being starved of fuel? The tank was just below 1/4 full. Ive never experienced this but usually have more fuel!!

The fuel pump is on the right hand side of the tank so on a tight right hand corner with low fuel all the fuel goes to the left hand side of the tank.

It sounds silly but the way to avoid this on an Impreza is to not run it under half a tank! If mine is under half a tank I don't boot it, you can't always keep it over half in the real world so I just take it easy until I can fill up again.

I had this issue on the track. I've fitted a swirl pot, and all is well

Swirl pot is the only realistic solution & doesn't cost too much.
