You will need either a esl board approx £550 fitted and mapped or a simtek approx £1000 fitted and mapped, there are other ecu's but these two are among the cheapest way forward,.

You will also need to take into account the gearbox, it might last 5 mins or 5 years at that power it's down to how you drive.
As above for mapping, or get a scoobyecu fitted, it plugs into your ecu and gives the car new parameters to work to, but these are fixed but are higher than standard expect 280 bhp as a conservative figure. My last scoob had 317 with this chip an my current one I have no idea as its not been rolling roaded'
The chip runs a decat exhaust system, standard injectors, better air filter. Boosts the turbo to 17.5psi (about 1.1bar) increases fuel cut an ensures it can run on super unleaded. All for about £100. This is just another option, but if you are after far more power you will need something like an apex I power FC and have it mapped by a reputable person that the others will advise on
And as mentioned, they ain't getting any younger, I've ended up putting a much newer sti 8 uk semi closed deck block in mine due to the big ends knocking. So a modified oil pump will also help to ensure a good flow of oil around the old crank/ main bearings etc

thanks.... the engine was fully rebuilt in 2009...... not looking for massive power would just like to get the lim off and get it set up so it runs nice with the mods that are done plus with the 440 injectors fitted

Apexi fc is a mappable ecu with a hand controller that sits on the dash...you probably have a z4 ecu same as mine..as above you can get an esl board and map that but just go for the simtek from jgm that's open to loads of maps.....als/lc and so on. That's the route I will be going very soon.
