Default Top Mount + Remap advice required

Hi Guys,
I'm looking to get my 99 UK Turbo remapped in the foreseeable future and was planning some supporting mods, probably along the lines of:

Uprated fuel pump (Walbro etc.)
Fuel pressure regulator with fitting kit & gauge
Uprated turbo to intercooler 'Y' pipe and new top mount
Dump valve

I’ve had a look on here:
http://autospeed.com/cms/title_TopMo...8/article.html
http://autospeed.com/cms/A_1619/article.html

I’m considering either trying to pick up a second hand intercooler from a new age or an aftermarket item like the jap speed top mount

Can anyone suggest what would be the best top mount to go with and if there is anything else that I should consider to get a decent result after remap?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

To give a bit more info:
For what it is worth the car is pretty standard, with the exception of the following:
Hayward and Scott 2 1/2” Turbo back exhaust and a K&N Panel filter.

It has done 70,000 miles and has a very comprehensive service history.
The clutch was replaced around 10,000 miles ago and doesn’t get thrashed or have heavy launches.
(Its mainly used for road driving with the odd spirited blast here and there)

Assuming you are still on the standard turbo then you will find the oe top mount is more than man enough and going larger will gain you next to nothing.

I would save the money on the top mount and spend it on a secondhand sti turbo like a vf28,vf34,vf35 etc.. and the standard top mount will restrict the power a little but you will still make more power then than on the standard turbo and an uprated tmic.

really I would hold off on tmic and do a turbo or map as is..

then do front mount intercooler and bigger turbo

Well it does go out on the road.. little bit of attention with the colour scheme (need a matt black wrap for road )

Haha I knew that would be a suggestion, bigger turbo THEN.....

No.

I won't be going down the big power route, just keep it as standard as possible with a couple of tweaks here and there.

But on the other hand if you've and bits lying around from your build that you don't want anyore......

Does a 99 UK turbo not have the TD04 already? I thought it was fitted as standard after '97?

That was my point.

You were asking about intercooler and I suggested bigger turbo. But you might prefer the current one?

Thanks for the advice, I'll def take it on board and keep my eyes peeled for any units coming up for sale.

I've had a look on here: http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...bo-comparison/

If I were to go down the changed turbo route what would you recommend?
I was liking the sound of the VF30 or VF24 do they fit easily?

Are there any on that list that are a def no go?
(I'm looking for something that'll fit with minimum hassle and give a good torque output yet will still be able to plod about without costing a fortune in fuel

Thanks again

Andy
