engine check light

Default engine check light

ive recently bought a uk2000 on a 98 which is totally standard, cant fault the car other than when its left ticking over for a while or if stopping and starting alot (driving through town) the engine check light comes on with code 22 knock sensor. fitted a new one and its still the same. any ideas?

the knock sensor is faulty

its had brand new knock sensor, maf and lambda and plugs, its got worse after filling up with waitrose superunleaded the light is constantly coming on and going off and the exhaust is popping and banging alot more

mine was the same.. Was it totally cleaned where the knock sensor sits on the block.. Had to scrape alot of muck away to get a good mating surface.. No probs since.

damaged wire just cut it back and soldered new piece in.
