Default possible power steering pump problem?

Has anyone come across a problem like this before?

On idle when I turn the steering wheel, the revs rise slightly. The steering wheel also doesnt feel very smooth when ou turn it and it feels like a pull against you turning it.

When I drive the Scooby I can feel a vibration when I turn the steering wheel, and also if I put my foot down in first or second gear going straight, the steering stiffens up and I can feel a slight vibration.

The only thing I can think of is the power steering pump is on the way out. Can anyone confirm this or have any information as to what else this could be please.

The MY of my scooby is a UK300 2001 bugeye

Could you just tighten the belt or did you replace it?

Nice one, thanks Lee.

Another suggestion I heard is that somehow some air has been sucked in. I know when I turn the steering wheel at full lock there is a hissing sound like air being pushed out

Take the lid off of your power steering reservoir and turn from full lock to lock about 5 times. If it is air this is how you bleed it out so you will soon no its not air lock if it hasnt solved it.

and make sure the level is right, sometimes it looks right but isnt quite full enough, do this at same time as mentioned above, then it will purge the system
