anyone seen or used a Garrett GT42 turbo on their Impreza's

How much power you after, lol, a Biilet 35R will do 700-750bhp.

Hi martyn I have a ej22 i am stroking I have seen a gt42 for sale looking for 500-600 bhp

You do NOT want a Gt42 for 5-600. Gt30 or 35 would be far better, and cost a shedload less for up and downpipes.

i think you will see a little more than that from a gt42

850-900 +. Far too much.
It has long been my point of view that you should fit the smallest turbo that will meet your power requirements, not the largest or cheapest.
For your goal on a 2.3 I would fit a Billet GT35 with a .63 exhaust housing.

I say more like way over kill mate for 500-600,as Martyn said a billet 35R would be perfect.

A .63 would strangle it a little I would say .82 martyn
