Default Is P1 engine same as classic my99?

Not wanting to sound dumb..(too late) is a 1999 p1 same as a 99 classic engine wise?

No m8 same engine sti v5/6

not 100% sure whats the difference, but there not the same bhp and i believe the p1 has the sti5 forged pistons

The P1 i believe is also a closed deck block.

No, its exactly the same engine as a version 5 STI, so its open block.
The P1 is based on a version 5 STI but in a 2 door shell, there are no mechanical differences between the STI and the P1.

How can it be same fella as p1 is 276hp whilst uk car is 215?!

it should say will a p1 engine fit my 99 t2000

as said the internals are very different (valves/cams/pistons etc etc)
