Default 96 wrx will not run????

can any one help my scoob ,was running fine then nipped in the supermarket on my return she will not start ,does try to and now and again will start but dies after a few seconds.when it does start if you rev it atall it will die??? ive changed mafs and cam senser also crank senser ive even tryed changing ecu but still nothing pleeeeese help

start with the obvious, any fault codes on the ecu ? do you have fuel/spark ?

ive checked and it is getting fuel with good presure fuel pump is priming like it should and it is turning over so not immobilzer,thanks for replys thou any more ideas please also my engine manegement light has never worked since ive owned the car

come on guys with all you scooby owners out there. someone must of had the same prob at some point,and if so how did you cure it?im getting close to taking a sledge hammer to it lol thanks for reading

Well to be captain obvious, it's likely fuel if it will start and die when you rev it, check fuel pump, check fuel filter, check fuel pressure to start with.

the prime relay is working as it fires , the second relay for running is not working by the sounds of it as it wont run or rev, to bypass the fuel relays etc take a live wire from battery to fuel pump connector under back seat on drivers side . if pump primes car starts and then continues to run its the running part of your fuel pump relay thats shot

Have u checked timing? This will give fuel and spark but not run

bypassed fuel relay but still no joy thanx anyways buddy

few things 92-96 wrx suffer with.

Coil packs!
maff
coolant temp sensor,
idle control valve.

coil packs and coolant temp sensor caused me loads of grief

Strange one, I would have said its 100% the fuel pump as I have had this issue, remove the seats , take the pump out and look to see that the hose is not split or kinked. If it starts for 1 second then dies and start every time , just the same its fuel pressure.

or just take the fuel line of the filter use a can and crank it over

just checked timing and its spot on,used fuel pipe from the filter in to a can and primed with loads of fuel and while cranking got loads of fuel,also changed coolent temp senser wwith no difference help help help im losing the will to live.
