Check the dump valve, make sure it's bolted up tight to the intercooler and that the gasket is in good condition.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why people remove the recirculating dump valve to replace it with a VTA.

You gain nothing, unless you count the noise

And you stand to lose a lot.........

Find a local garage with a Smoke Pro. It fills your inlet & intercooler pipes etc with a harmless smoke under low pressure & finds the leak. Only takes about 10 mins & saves loads of grief.

Ticks over fine but when boost darted to kick in somewhere around 4/4.3k rpm it will just cut out and a huge amount of power loss just try checking every plug also please check if engine check light is on , also look under your steering wheel just about above of the clutch pedal you will see to black connectors join them together and count how many times it flashes that will tell u your problem look at jolly green monsters home page I think there is a chart that tells you how ever if not google them they are quite easy to find

Sorted it at last i think after spending time changing pipes and dump valves and gaskets and sensors, got hold of a standard wrx intercooler and pipe work and undertray to fit, put it all on today and took the stupid oversized intercooler off and all seems fine so fingers crossed its sorted. Can only think the intercooler itself was leaking.
