Default 2002 Bugeye engine management light?

Hi guys,

Can someone possibly show me a picture of their speedo to show where the engine management light is located? I have the speedo where the rev counter is on the right.

I'm asking this because my light never comes on and i'm sure its meant to when starting the car.

Any help is much appreciated.

Right, took the binocle apart today and there doesn't seem to be any bulbs for that light, it appears to be all led. I plugged my scanner in and it showed that I did in deed have some faults logged, but no light? There's no way of looking at the actual led as its hidden by the temp guage, and yes it is on the left above the temp guage as I could see where it was meant to light up.

Can some one confirm to me that there should be a CEL for the early bugeyes?

There is definately a CEL light on the bug WRX clocks..........mine was always lighting up LOL. I've changed to STi clocks but the old ones are in the garage so I'll have a look later

That's the thing, it doesn't light up at all, even though my scanner said I had 5 faults.

Is your scanner reading historic codes which don't light a CEL ?

Possibly mate, not sure how old they are, but the light doesn't even come on when starting the car?

Seems a very strange one to me?

Hang on..........doesn't the CEL light go on when you turn the ignition on but don't start the engine........then goes out ?

I'd go and check but my CEL is on due to a missing EGT sensor LOL

Yeah sorry, there are some bulbs on the back but they are mainly the backlighting ones, not many of them actually are used for symbols

Just been into the garage and had a look at my standard Bug WRX clocks, the CEL light is above the "H" for hot of the temp guage and there is no bulb behind it.

It's either broken, been disabled or the cutout in the black had been obscured with tape / paint..

Clocks hardly go wrong so there should be plenty at the breakers..Scoobybits, Scooby Spares, Grade A, or people breaking on here. Rob Day is breaking his bug.

Don't worry about getting STi clocks from the non-sweep Bug / blob as they are plug and play

Cheers

If I were able to change the speedo, would there be any way of transferring my mileage over?

Not that I am aware of.......the mileage is stored on the speedo and not the ECU I took a photo of my old clocks and the new clocks and if I ever sell it then that will have to do. The difference in miles for my swap was only about 2k miles so not a big difference for a 10 year old car now.
