Default Oil again

Hello, i'm thinking about doing an oil change before winter kicks in. My question is, now that I have a slight tapping sound when she is cold, which oil shall I put in to stop this noise. Should I have a slightly thicker one or is there something I can add with the oil?

She is 1995 turbo import!

Thanks Claire

You could run a 10w50, it will take longer to warm up so you have to take that into mind or try to find the issue with the tapping, if its wear and tear then not much you can do...
What oil are you running now?

Is it a new noise, it could be piston slap which is normal for forged pistons

my mate used this as his engine was knocking on his megane scenic, it stopped the knocking 100% and i was amazed lol. obviously it won,t repair the wear of the engine but might stop you worrying so much. i would do an oil change in any case and iff it,s still noisy give this product a try.

And this is why we don't sell it and would never recommend it.

With a pre 2000 car, a 10w-40 can help to keep it quiet when it's cold. Unfortunately it might not be as simple as changing the oil used.
