Default White smoke out of bonnet scoop???

As title, came off motorway, at junction White smoke coming out of bonnet scoop at idle, first chance pulled over and could see nothing, it was the same amount of smoke you would get from exhaust on a cold morning cruised at motorway at 80mph so wasn't thrashing it, any ideas???

check rad hoses, also have a nose behind the engine turbo side for a rocker gasket leak.

my dad had a very similar thing, was the plastic rad bottle had split, get it looked at asap and you should be fine.

Does it smell? Mine does it and it's a slight leak on the o/s rocker cover gasket, drips onto the headers, burns off as oil smoke, smells strongly of burning oil.

If there is no smell except a steamy hot one, likely to be water, could be from damp wrapped headers, (mine does that too), or from a pinhole in the rad, or, more likely, top hose.

Set engine going once it's hot, bonnet up and inspect area around top hose for damp, drips, fine spray.

mine did this after a coolant change... problem was that when filling the header tank, the coolant was coming out of the union where the turbo hose would normally be.. subsequently was burnign off on the block/exhaust.

Got engine up to temp, rad hoses look good and rockers as well, really can't see any leaks at all or evidence of leaks plus no smoke, very confused!!! No smell either so far.

Carefully put your hand down between the bulkhead and the engine, off side. Feel around the bottom of the rocker cover, sliding fingers to rear. Is it greasy/oily? If so, that's your culprit.
VERY common.
