Oil pump change requires removal of cambelt as it is driven off it. If you are wanting to upgrade the oil pump would probably worth waiting till getting cambelt changed which I did. Cost me price of pump and a bit extra as not much additional work.

Spotted this in projects goto page 4 post 96 second photo the engine is upside down so it looks like there are two chimneys above the crankshaft. That is the oil pump.

Cheers for that, appreciated!
I'm doing the cambelt at same time, seeing as its the original pump I guess and its 10yrs 100k old got to be worth doing. Going to get one of them ones with the tweaked relief vavle and do the seals at the same time.
Is it just those 7 or 8 bolts to undo and hey presto? Or is there something else to do like drop the sump? Quite suprised I couldn't find a decent guide about, if only haynes made a manual!

Got my pump, one final question hopefully! Does the pump need to be primed and if so how is this done? Got a mechanic helping me with it all on saturday so hopefully get it cracked this weekend!

When the pump and cambelt are back on and timed up, remove the spark plugs and crank sensor connector (on the top of the oil pump) and spin it over on the key until the oil light goes out - your ready to rock and roll then.
If your having trouble priming/purging the system, slacken the oil filter and spin over again - as the oil seeps out the oil filter, tighten it up and continue to crank.
