Default Recommend me some headers please

About to drop a replacement engine into my MY00 Facelift Classic so thought i'd stick some decent headers on there before the remap.

Ideally I'd like less of a burble, more of a WRC type sound if you get what I mean

I'm not sure what Equal and un-equal are, and if that applies to the EJ205 I have in mine, sorry if thats a dumbass question but i've not seen the engine out yet so not sure what to look for.

I've got a full decat system and VF35 on there so i'm hoping headers would be a good addition.

Thoughts/recommendations appreciated, Thanks

at your power level, i would say a set of standard ones that have been ported by Harvey Smith from this forum.

on bigger power cars, gt-spec are very nice

I'm currently running 337bhp, 298lb/ft with a 35, FMIC, walbro and ecutek map but i'm proberbly going to reduce the power a bit on the next map by going down to 95 RON instead of VPower (cant get it within 20 miles of here).

Based on around 300bhp what would you go for, and who's a good supplier for the GT Specs?

I would don't goo for GT Spec, due you will loose spool with these headers,if you want go i would suggest Harvey up pipe for GT-spec,which will bring spool down to lower RPM.
Supplier of GT Spec is here Mark@Lateral Performance,Alyn@AS Performance or Harvey here.

At 300-400bhp ported and Harvey up pipe will be mine choice.

my previous car was a wrx bug with vf35 pink injectors and sti tmic, i put equal headers on it and the resulting sound was totally fantastic

my mates said when they were behind me, if they couldnt see me they would have sworn it was a yamaha r1 or similar..

I loved the sound sooo much, im thinking of changing my new sti over to them. I never had any problems with power loss, used to pull like a train all the way to the rev limiter..

But beware you loose the scooby sound completely......
But If you love your big bike / WRC sound they are a must have

I would say 300bhp is the wrong point at which to fit the majority of headers available. One reason is many are originally USDM and targetted at 2.5 STI engines. Hence, the tubes can be or are bigger. Another is that I've only seen one set of results offering reasonable gains with small bore headers. In the old Scoobymag and they broke on Andy F's Project WRX after a few weeks/months.

Best bang for buck on 2.0 below say 350-400HP is a set of ported OEM headers with a matched uppipe.

You can get that with a B+D drill and a few holes in the exhaust and it costs nothing but a bit of your time.
