Default Took the Subaru to the garage :-(

Hiya after taking my car to the garage to find out my problem with my brakes we think we have found the problem.

We had the car pluged in and found a error code 56 G-Sensor ???

We then took the car for a drive while logging the brake system and we found the n/s/f - Passanger side had a signal delay when above 20mpg the wheels all read the same reading, when coming to a stop they would all read 0 exsept the n/s/f that would be on 7 but then drop a few seconds later but the ABS would still kick in,

I have been told this could be the ABS sennsor or Abs ring but the ring can only be brought with the joint with a wopping total of £256.02 + vat for the ring and £190 +vat

What would you say the problem was,

Subaru said they have never sold them parts as they are very uncommon,I was thinking is it worth me buying a secont hand hub, that sensor is still getting a reading but is very delayed :S

Any question please ask and i will do my best to answer thanks alot

It's a bit naughty but can you pull the ABS fuse until you get it sorted, at the prices above I would get the parts from one being broken on here - there's plenty to choose from.

I have just spoke to a mate who said clean the ABS sensor,I took the passanger one off which the car mechnic said it was that side that was a bit shocking on reading but i took it off and cleaned it and looked ok so I put it back on,I then went to clean the drivers side and when I took it off it was snapped im pretty sure it was already broke but would this cause this to make the ABS kick in ?

Any advise would be great,
Thank you

think the abs light would be on permanently - the abs sensor always breaks so dont feel to bad pick up a second hand one and give it a go - its a petty easy fix

Well I took the car out for a drive and no ABS light come on,could this be the problem to my juddering when coming to a stop ?

I will ask the garage what wheel it was that the signal was slower than the rest,I am hoping I miss hurd and it was the drivers side then its got to be the ABS sensor,I can get a ABS sensor for £47 inc post,is this any good ?

Thanks for the comments

Made sure it was the o/s/f, the diagnostic machine agreed,I took the ABS sensor out again and checked the ring and did not notice anything wrong with it so hopfully a broken sonsor,I have ordered both front o/s/f and n/s/f abd sensors due to 1 snapping and the machine said the other one was not reading as fast as the others so hopfully I will find out my problem tomorro, also i snapped my front o/s/f wheen studs is there a link how to get these out and what needs taking off.

Thank you

i have a similar problem.I have a pulsing sensation when braking.no abs warning light and replaced the front pads and discs and all sensors are fine yet i still have the problem!!! I will be looking at the caliper carriers next to see if one has slight bend or kink, it doesnt effect the braking just annoying

That's the ABS working! If the system detects wheel slip by measurement of the wheel speed, it backs off the brake on the one that's locked up. It doesn't just shut it off, it pulses it rapidly.
If it's still feeling a bit like it even when you are braking gently, check the run out on the rear discs, they are just as prone to warpage.
