i personally use a 20% methanol mix + v-power , awesome stuff but you would need a remap, otherwise id just use v-power

97 ron is the recommended fuel by Subaru mate. Vpower, momentum if you live on the mainland or BP ultimate if you live in Northern Ireland

Where is the best place to get methanol?...Ive been thinking about adding it to my classic before it goes back for a remap after the new headers..

i use bonneymans, its £97 for a 205ltr drum and after hazardous delevery charge it came to £141 for it.
Works out at 68p a ltr v 1.42 for v-power so not only does it add power but it saves cash !
Another site is jennychem but i found those a bit more expensive

as a side note, i seem to get an extra 10 miles per tank roughly using meth, but that maybe a side effect of the remap, either way 280bhp to 360 isnt to be sniffed at

Is it safe to use "octane booster" additives, such as STP booster etc from Halfords.. or is it something worth avoiding? I know the higher the octane the safer your engine runs and more economically, and eco friendly too.

I'd always use Shell V Power or Tesco 99 (now called momentum) but following recent events I might be sticking to V Power as I think I got a bad batch of fuel from Tesco 99. BP Ultimate is lower 97 ron and quite pricey so I tend to avoid this unless I have to. Does NI not have any Shell or Tesco 99 garages?

its safe to use octane booster, alot use the mix i use then add in the NF , if you do that do not mix meth and nf in same container before putting it in car, it turns to a superglue like substance, put 1 in tank, then other always with fuel, as always a remap is the safe option
