Is that the right way to bleed your brakes?

You can bleed your brakes acouple of ways, his way is fine, the reason he has his friend keep pumping the pedal and not locking the bleed nipple off is the bleed pipe is in fluid,so air cannot be sucked back in,usually, the container is empty, hence locking the bleed nipple off as u`d suck air back in if kept pumping the pedal.

ive never emptied the reservoir with a turkey baster 1st but again, horses for courses,if thats what u want to do,no issues.

it's not right really, i've always done it by starting at the caliper nearest the fluid reservoir and work around them so the one furthest away is last.

Hhmm, not sure that rule of thumb has any effect as long as each caliper is air free the air will dispurse from the last caliper if fluid is bled for long enough but again,as i said, many ways to bleed em and personal preferences

yea its ok. he is correct. start with the caliper furthest away from the master cylinder is the correct method, although as above providing all lines are bled properly any order will do the job
