Has anyone got any cat pipe removal/fitting tips??!
Hi,
I need to replace my front cat pipe and wondered if anyone had a guide or "tricks of the trade" for doing the job (short cuts, what needs removing, etc). I'm asking as I had a look at it earlier and it looks a right pain in the a***!!!
It's on a 1994 wrx.
Any help would be great,
Cheers

Tell him to do a refresher course. Or read the following link.

I knew it !! I had this problem last year when I took it for an MOT. I was sure that I could de-cat the car. I've used the same tester for all my cars through the years and I don't want to fall out with him but I want to get rid of the cat. he's already failed it on emissions once !!

It's a shame I've just spent out on a cat pipe when I should've been buying a de-cat !!!
So,my car may still fail as the pass criteria is for a later impreza ?

Sorry. What I meant was that because of the MOT tester selecting the wrong car on the emissions test, the diagnosis limits that the car has to stay within are to strict as he is testing it as a later model, correct ??!!

It's for a Newage but the principal is the same. The comment about a decent six sided socket is really useful !! I am glad I had some for my rusty nuts !
Cheers,
Wilky.
