does ignition timing effect boost pressure?
As above really, have done my cambelt, and the car is running great. But before i was boosting to 17psi (i have a PP chip) now its only 15psi?
Could this be due to the timing being slightly out? Or do you reackon ive got a split pipe somewhere?

if the timing was out you would have more than just boost problem but for peace and mind take the cambelt covers off and have a look

cam timing and ignition timing are not the same thing, as per your other thread, is you cam timing now correct?.

My cam timing is fine, am still a tooth out on the passenger side, but that is unavoidable... Car is running better than ever, im just 2psi down on boost now...

If your timing is one tooth out on the passenger side, then you will need to rectify this as it is not right & it could be affecting your boost pressure.

It would be impossible for me to get it exactly dead on the lines. All the top lines line up, and the 3 and 9 o'clock. Its the double lines that are not lining up properly. Id say i was half a tooth out. I will have another look.

They are always a tiny bit off, maybe even up to half a tooth, but if as you said earlyier it's a whole tooth, then you would need to sort this.
