Thumbs up Remapping in southampton

Hi I am a new Impreza owner (Classic 2000) and i want to get the most out of a basic set up. I will put on a full decat system and already have an induction kit and dump valve fitted. I am in the Cannel Islands and need to go the the UK for a remap but where is the best place to go in the south east somewhere??

Thanks.

Get hold of Simon from Jolly Green Monster@
Jollygreenmonster.co.uk

He is mobile but seems to do plenty of work in that area....p.s. The induction kit will probably cost you BHP!!

The induction kit won't cost you bhp with a remap it's just not advised as its not as safe as the air box, but plus 1 on jolly green monster he's 1 of the best mallets apparently too :-)

Well it all depends on alot of factors really like age, miliage, how you drive it etc but the general limits of a standard late uk classic are around 300 bhp/torque for the gearbox and around 350bhp for the engine but that's a few mods away from standard lol with a decat Ik and remap your looking at around the 270bhp Mark max

Thanks for the recommendations guys.

Think I just replied to your email

You are welcome to bring it to dyno www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk or www.subaru4you.co.uk and I can meet you at either and map it on the rollers and road or meet you in Southampton and road map it.

As you are bringing it over from channel islands I would recommend making sure tank is topped up with the fuel you usually use etc.. as I suspect it maybe 97ron at best?

Many thanks
Simon

Sorry for thread revival but wandering how much difference a remap would do BHP wise to my car UK 2000 Turbo wagon which is standard except Prodrive back box. It has 120K on the clock so it's no youngster but it’s all mechanically sound and recently had the 120K Service.

with standard downpipe cat and centre cat still fitted probably see you at 260~265bhp from now probably 220bhp.. torque will go up too, along with better throttle response and mpg, the power is also alot more useable.

So if i changed the front pipe to a sports cat and a de-cat midpipe to the prodrive back box i presume i would get more BHP and pass MOT but would i have to change the ECU standard chip or can you just re-map the original chip that came with the car??

Having a N/A car before all this mapping and tubo's are new to me.
