alloy race radiator
hi,i have a koyorad aluminium rad on my car that has sprung a few leaks here and there.the ally rad i have is nearly twice as thick as a standered rad and i would have thought that would have given better cooling.the only problem i have with buying another the same is the extra weight it gives.i have done a few search's and there is mixed veiws, some say the standered rad is just as good as an alloy one and some say the alloy race rads are better.has anyone ever tested both.?

i was told the alloy onces taker longer to cool down when hot compared to the standard 1s in traffic heat soak conditions so bought a new standard rad with zero sports thermostat which worked fine

true, they do look better but the one i have is a lot heavier than a standered one when empty and holds around twice as much water,so is really heavy when full.i have looked around and there is differant core sized alloy ones that arn't quite as thick as the one i have but if a standered one will do just as good then i dont mind fitting one.
