Default uprated oil pumps

Hi,

I have found a replacement engine to get my 96' v limited up and running and am thinking about replacing the oil pump with an uprated version just for peace of mind.

Is there any difference in the various companies that sell them and where are the best offers?

Regards

Daniel

hi, thanks for that I will send him a pm, cosworth one about £220 seems the best price at the mo for a new one. api do a exchange one they modify for less though.

I just wonder if a new one with a new pressue valve is the best option.

Also try Advanced Automotive in Bristol, they also uprate oil pump to 11 & 12mm options plus they can supply RCM pumps as well.

Hi, what are the benifits of changing oil pump, as mine has 70000 on the engine, does mine need changing or best to leave?

They get weaker, hence lower pressure, with age and the plate can come loose etc and again loss of pressure

My car has only done 56k but changing my water pump and oil pump. At the same time fitting a Cosworth kevlar belt too.

It's a bitch you have to remove the belt as it's only done 12k to carry out water pump and oil pump. Bugger.lol
