Imprezas dont like VTA dump valves. I had one on mine, and binned it a few months later.

If your getting a knock sensor fault, you can drive the car, but keep off the boost. Knock sensor isnt to expensive and is only 15mins to fit.

Imo yeah. I had lots of problems with a dump valve fitted. Eratic idle, loss of boost, engine stalls. Best leave the dump valves alone.

User CP-->Setting and options-->Edit avatar.
You will need to resize it first, use photobucket.com for that mate.

Imho some dump valves are ok, but tbh they just ruin eveything thats good about an impreza, yes I agree the Wooosh noise occasionanly is nice, but 9 times out of 10 its just so inappropriate. Other than as said above, the car with a aftermarket DV usually ascertains poor excessive revs between boost gear changes... They just are not worth it. On my last car which had a Baileys on when bought, was fitted with a Vee-port which I believe was one of the better DV's, however this was constantly tweaked to try and get the car to run propely, but I found that If I tightened up the spring the car would then start to struggle to dump, and then turbo chudder, if the spring was slackened off it would woosh almost all the time, thus not holding boost properly.

So in a nut shell - They are s_it, but horses for courses!
