Default ECUtec remap

Hey folks,

I have a ecutec remap on my 2001 wrx.

Is there a way to have a switch other than the rear demist wired in.

Alternatively is there a way to have a LED to show if its on or off?

Cheers

Dan

Any switch would do, you could put a custom switch in I should have thought, or a push button with an LED in it!

I can tell if i floor it but I'd prefer to have a visual for when I'm driving slow.

Where would I wire the switch into? It would have to go onto the ecu somewhere?

Does the rear window demister actually work then or does the button simply serve the purpose of flipping maps?

If the button doesn't actually demist the window just rob the wires off the back of the switch and put them on to a new switch of your choice..... Bit Ghetto LOL

rear windows demist still works.

Map only swaps if throttle is on the floor and you double click the switch. It is therefore probably more complicated than just robbing the wires.

It's a little more complicated in the the Bug ECU can't hold 2 maps.......the "switch" is recognised by the ECU and reduces boost but nothing else.

As there are not 2 maps then why bother switching to a low boost ?? I've not bothered with mine for 6-7 years LOL

Low boost calms me down!

Has anybody got an answer. A simple LED visual would be fine.

Why don't you buy another switch with an LED from a dealer and fit it in the spare switch slot or am i missing something here ?

As mentioned the ECU senses the rear demister combined with 100% TPS and reduces boost.........I'm not certain how this could be incorporated into a switch?

I agree with Stealth.....above

Cheers guys.

Would there be any wire that would be live when on full boost but not on low boost I could run an LED off?
