Tbho Martin classic's don't really need them as they keep in the right zone for oil temp all on there own, newage sometimes need them depending on power output and usage ie track use or very heavy foot on the road.
If you decide you want one i have a process west one with piping and mocal thermostatic sandwich plate in vgc you could buy if you'd like as i found myn didn't need it either[classic].

not that im aware of just standard internals, although has had few mods n running higher bhp. i do need to give it some beans for a while before temps rise but they can rise over 100 just then i stop or eas off to let the air cool it right down to about 90ish

Myn is forged which could help disperse the heat alittle better and i use Millers cfs 10w50 full synthetic ester based oil in myn.
On the cooler side i would want £200 as it cost me over £400 new with buying the mocal thermo plate as well,if you'd like i could send you some pic's mate

An oil temp of 100C is not that high and most 2.5s will run a bit more than that.
The oil manufacturers including specifically Motul say that their oil is good to 140C. That sounds like a lot to me but after I came by that information I noticed that Porsche and VAG cars equipped with oil temperature guages all had the red line at 140C.
On the hottest day of the year on a 2 litre with well over 550 bhp on a track day I would do 10-15 laps flat out and as the oil temperature reached 125C, come in for a 15 minute braak. On cooler days oil temperature was never an issue even on track.
Hope this helps.

oil temps of just over 100 isnt enough to warrant an oil cooler.you will probably do more damage to your engine by fitting an oil cooler as the oil wont be getting to the proper operating temp + theres the extra weight of the cooler and all the extra oil.i didnt run an oil cooler all this year on mine and the highest temps i saw was at cadwell when it went just over 115 deg.i think if you give your car regular oil changes and use your common sense and keep your eye on the temps, then an oil cooler isnt needed on a car such as your own.
