Smile What battery do you have?

All,

Just to help people looking for a battery, its brand, its ID, its price and where you purchased it from (giving area etc) and for what car as there are some differences out there.

So I shall start with my new battery.

Car: 2003 STI Spec C (smaller battery type)
Price: £46 quid inc vat (collected at counter)
Make: Varta B31 Blue
Supplier: http://www.manbat.co.uk/distributors/?b=manchester
Location: Hyde, Manchester (though branches throught the UK)

So help yourself and lets make getting a battery and the right type easier for everyone

Tony

Good idea, here is my info. I added some comments that might help others etc.

Car: 2006 STI Spec D
Price: £58 inc vat
Make: Bosch S5005
Supplier: Costco
Location: Thurrock but lots of others in UK
Comments : Fits standard battery tray ( just ), sits lower in car, higher Ah than original item.

EDIT : Price was infact £58 not £55 , same as bern11 found.

Car: 1999 STi Version V
Price: £88
Make: tba - normal sized car batt.
Supplier: RCM
Location: Hinckley, Leic.

Comments: Bought about a month ago. Recommended by RCM to be the correct application for my car. Has been working brilliantly in these sub-zero temps. Starts first time, every time - even when left parked up outside for days!! Can really 'feel' the oomph of the battery power.

Doh! I blame 3.5hrs on the M40 yesterday

Guys, keep the same format, this means its easy for people who are in your area to go to the same place and get the same type battery rather than try to decypher what you have put down

Comments: Was on my car when I bought it, hence the price. Never had any bother with it, apart from having to charge it when my car had sat under a foot of snow for two weeks. Will have owned for 6 years in March.

Car: 2007 STI (Saloon)
Price: £115 inc vat
Make: Bosch Silver HSB075
Supplier: Halfords
Location: Belfast
Comments : Fits standard battery tray ( just ), sits lower in car, 600A starting power. Great starting kick - even in -10C.

I splashed out because I was sick of jump starting my motor. Even if the kids had been in it for 5 mins without the engine running and used the windows a couple of times.

This battery does not come up as recommended in the Halfords chart selector thing. I think that's only because the dimensions are slightly different to the standard part. However it fits a treat.

A warning for you guys regarding a battery site that ripped me off - "Performance batteries" @ http://www.performancebatteries.co.uk/. If you use the battery selector by entering your car model it returns batteries which are too physically large - certainly for the 2006/2007 STi. And once delivered and you find it a tight squeeze - they will not give you a refund / exchange.

Battery died completely today. Wouldn't even jump start from my Legacy. At my last Subaru service they did tell me that the battery seemed low in charge and asked if I used it regularly. I said 45 miles everyday - never had a problem. I've been on holiday the last week and not used the car - and got a flat battery as a result.

Car: 2006 WRX SL wagon
Price: £89.20 (inc VAT)
Make: Yuasa Professional 005 (alt no. 65D23L)
Supplier: Dalrymple Service Centre
Location: North Berwick, East Lothian.
Mileage: 52,000 miles
Comment: price is the same as the Yuasa website.

2002 sti

halfords hbc005 calcium 4 year warranty
retail £90 as above £60 trade

Makes a real difference in halfords if you can get a trade card. Not to difficult either to get.

Car: MY07 RB320
Make: Bosch S5005
Price: £49.99
Supplier: Costco
Location: Cardiff
Comments: Excellent fit, just the Bosch has a lip at the bottom which is slightly oversize for the soft plastic tray that it sits on.
