I think the V4 Type R limited, came in both WRX and WRX STi models...

Easy way to tell on stock cars, is the WRX STi has fog lamp covers, while the WRX has fog lamps... Both should have a roof flap

All STI type R's and RA's have the dccd, the standard model doesnt (classics).

Then its not an STI, it will be a wrx type r limited.
The STi has a 7.8k red line, the wrx doesnt, the seats will be different, no red inlet manifold, no quick rack steering or roof vent, no rear 2 pots or 4 pot fronts (and the sti wont have abs, the wrx most likely does).

You dont mean this one do you?
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2257277.htm
As this is a wrx, 2 pot front, single rear, redline at 7.5k, aftermarket roof vent etc.
TBH, pos, would leave it well alone.

Its vin should start GC8E2DD, anything else and its not an STI type R version 4 (limited has the same designation).

The E indicates the version/year, so an F would be a version 5 etc.

The fact that it is a 2 door and has the roof vents are the 2 biggest give aways.
To the OP it looks like a Type R V limited to me but if you PM me the chassis number I should be able to find out more.

Hi Martyn

Yes it looks like a Type V limited. But is it a WRX STi Type-R V-limited or a WRX Type-R V-limited (different engine as standard and no DCCD)?

They are both 2 doors and have roof vents.

That engine might go some way in justifying the price. Ask for the full spec and who built it. Then have a chat with the engine builder.

If you like the car I'm sure you could haggle a bit
