Default Code 33 problem

Hi, my other half's Forester started flashing it AT hold light the other day for a couple of mins when cold, did it again yesterday, and now the check engine light is on. On checking the codes, it has code 33-speed sensor. The speedo works fine.

I understand the speed sensor bringing on the AT hold light, but do you think it is just water in the connections, or is there a know fault with these?

Thanks, Mit

Are the codes different on the Forester then Mit?

24 Idle air control solenoid on a Impreza will cause the speed sensor to show as the ECU thinks it should be seeing a speed signal because the IACV it not telling it that the vehicle is at idle.

Funny you should say that, i did give the idle valve a clean the other day, so maybe the two are linked. I'm just resetting the ecu at the mo, so will see how things go. Cheers for that!

Oh, i edited the first post to just list 33-speed sensor, but forgot to remove the 24 from the title!
