Default What do these do??

What do these do?? They seem to be connected to boost pipes.

Located in the top lefthand corner of the engine bay.

Thanks

That'll be the boost solenoid, controls how much boost the turbo delivers - yours is the 2-port variety.

there the boost solenoid valve and map sensor.
the solenoid valve controls the boost and the map sensor tells the ecu what pressure is in the manifold.

While I've got you guys attention

Which pipe should I cut to fit the boost gauge pipe? I'm guessing the black pipe just to the left of the centre of the manifold.

Whats the other small black one to just to the right of the manifold centre next to the pipe that goes to DV? On my old UK car this was blanked off.

That is the pipe that goes down to the valve for the carbon canister which is situated next to the radiator[drivers side front].
The pipe you mentioned would be fine for the gauge mate.
