Reading fault codes on Newage

Hey guys, I know on a classic you can use the method bellow to read fault codes but on newages does this work? or is there another way?

That method does not work on a new age car. You will need a laptop running ECUExplorer/RomRaider/etc or, if all else fails, an OBDII scan tool to read the error memory.
