Question What FMIC ?

2007 STI, engine being built in January & still can't decide on what FMIC to use.
At one end of the scale is the Hybrid unit from Harvey & at the pricey end is Perrin / APS / Blitz.
Is there anything in between price wise ? Are the Perrin / APS / Blitz units worth twice the price of the hybrid unit ?

How can we answer a question like that in a useful manner when you haven't told us what the final setup/turbo/power goal is likely to be?

Like the sticky at the top of the forum says, we need relevant information.

Fair comment Splitpin, final target is 450 + . Engine is being built with cosworth pistons / rods ,14mm head studs, ACL bearings, std heads & cams. Turbo spec will be the Owen Developments 475 Garret unit or similar, with uprated fuelling as req.

Hybrid everytime, dont let the price difference influence your decision they are every bit as capable as those 3-4 times the price.

I have one on mine (550bhp) and on a recent top end run(170mhp) charge temps never once rose above 50 degrees according to the datalogs on the Syvecs.

The difference it price from a Hybrid to a hyperflow for example could be better spent elsewhere on the car

Hope that helps

No, but you can connect your laptop to it via an RJ45 cable and then either live monitor a variety of parameters or download data logs.

HDi from Harvey Smith.

OK, I had a pickle fitting mine but the product itself along with Harvey's comunication not to mention the price gets my vote.

^^^^ What he said^^^^

Only advantage of the APS, which is many times the price of the hybrid, but not, by all accounts, significantly more effective, is that it supposedly fits without any cutting of the inside of the bumper required, but that's not too much of a chore for an experienced fitter.

Boyd: Do they have more than the one off Perrin for sale? Can your good price be repeated?
Just because I sell Hybrid cheap does not mean it is a cheap product. I cannot say about your 07 car because I have not done back to back testing but I can tell you that on a 00 STi 6, back to back testing Hybrid GT to APS the cheaper Hybrid (by a factor of 3 times the price) considerably outperformed your APS product.
I have a kit here I would like someone to test, available for £550 and if anyone is interested get in touch by email per profile. MY07 direct fit.
The Hybrid kit is £395 but not a direct fit.
