Default Few more probs ?

Hi all
I have noticed a whistling noise coming from the engine when i start the car and it idles can not hear it when driving Any ideas ????

The car is backfiring when i come of the throttle nearly all the time. Could this be the coil packs. Car drives fine and sounds great

1995 WRX, chip, 255 FP, Full decat, Green Panel filter

Thanks Neil

Mine pops and bangs regularly but not all/everytime, i also run the same mods, plus a VTA which causes a little bit of over fuel and aids the cause.

Has it only started this since you fitted your new ECU and chip??

Yeah, will just be over fuel, not ideal and some will say causes 'bore-wash'. You thought of fitting an AFR gauge, just so you can see, i have one fitted.
Can't see you losing any power, some of the lads have the pops and bangs mapped in on a remap.

Good move and yes it sounds fine .

The fuelling is increased on the chips map to cope with the extra boost/power, better to run a 'little rich' (not too much) than a 'little lean' .

She will appreciate those, doesn't sound like you have any problems in that resect though. she would be failing under load if they where to fluffed.

Yes they are second hand but got them for a good price so even if only 2 are ok it will be fine, want to change the plugs so wanted parts to change if needed rather than taking the car apart again even if the girlfriend says i love it
Thanks Neil
