hi all,ive just bought my first,it was damaged,and no logbook,its a t reg impreza,turbo 4x4,how do i tell what model,and import or uk model,

 

what's the reg bud...sure some guy's on here could help

also look under the bonnet on the plate with chassis number's Etc..they will help.

Engine code?

 

reg is T963TNF,were is engine number,

 

Find the "Applied model" code... It's a 7-digit code and is found on the VIN plate riveted to the passenger front suspension turret.

 

should be on passenger's side suspension mount (just next to it)has paint code..engine code..chassis number Etc)

The VIN plate is best, as advised.

But on the face of it, you have a MY98 (as it's 208bhp and pre Sep 98). Does your engine have the coilpack bang in the centre on the inlet manifold, or is it offset to the passenger side?

Dave you have a MY99 UK 'Turbo 2000 AWD' ~ 215bhp/214lb ft as std.

coil is on passenger side,check engine light comes on,i have scanner ill plug in tomorrow see what it says,

 

Not sure the MY99 has an OBD port......... Jolly green Monster's site has the method with the connectors and counting the flashes.

The MY99 does have the port... but whether it uses the OBD protocol, can't remember.

As above, you can still use the connectors underneath the steering column shroud to check for codes....
