Hola peeps,im wanting to fit some P1 spots to my Type R soon. The type R has a P1 spoiler that has just been resprayed and fixed up nice...............

I also have the complete lights themselves and the fog light surrounds..........

My question is,do i need a fitting kit, like brackets or do they just bolt straight on and then sort wireing?

Brackets can be had from a Scoob dealer, they aren't expensive, and are needed, sorry
Do you need advice re: the wiring? They need to be wired so as to come on only with main beam, and extinguish on dip. There is also a way to make the foglight switch control whether they come on, or not, when main is selected, so you don't end up flashing them at people around town, etc.

What i also really need is a link for the brackets needed as tried to sort it with a scoob garage once and they gave me one of those tiny diagrams of all the components and didnt know what to order.
Thanks mate

The brackets you want are shaped like a + sign in plan view, but the ends of each part of the + turn upwards. Does that help?
And what do you want to do with the lights? Have them on with main beam, or CHOOSE if they come on with main beam or not? the former needs one relay, the latter, two.
Just looked back at your op, and you have a type R..........no foglights as standard? If so, the option of CHOOSING for them to come on, or not, which uses the car's OE foglight wiring, won't be open to you.

I just plugged mine into the fog light plugs, and they now come on when I press the fog light switch... they dont come on when I put main beam on.
Mines a '97 WRX

The relevant piece of legislations states that any driving light MUST extinguish when dip beam is selected. Converesely, that means they come on with main beam. But it's the dipping part that's important. I mean, you don't want to be dipping left handed and feeling for the driving light switch right handed, do you

Wiring to have them come on with main beam is relatively easy. It needs a relay, available at most car shops, some bits of cable, some connectors and an hour of your time. Oh, and an inline fuse if your relay doesn't have one.
I have just fitted exactly the same lights to my car. I didn't use any brackets just bolted them directly into the holes already on the face lift bumper.
Be aware though that you need to cut some metalwork away from where they sit otherwise they do not fit.
If they are the same as mine they are projection lights with a H7 bulb. They are not P1 items.
They are actually from a Subaru Forester.

Yes please Mr Christian...thanks mate....

Lee,no these are genuine P1 lights, but thanks for your input, and remove metal if nessesary....
As I said before, they MUST go off when you select dip.
Get yourself a relay and do it right

The P1 lights were/are Hella 90mm units. The brackets I mentioned allowed them to fit without cutting anything, and to be adjusted from the front, just like headlights: one screw for vertical, one for horizontal.
Those lights are also available in HID............
