Default Air Flow Meters

Got me a classic face lift, had some mods done a while back now and not sure wether its me being used to the cars performance or if it is slightly lacking in power.

Just put the diagnostic tester on her and roadtested with the diag. tester recording what the MAF and MAP sensors are doing.

The MAP is reading what my boost pressure gauge is reading so I know this is ok.

Annoyingly the MAF sensor is reading in Volts rather than mm Hg so cant see what mass of air is actually being consumed.

So my question to you is, my MAF is maxing at 2.6V is this about right??

In my experience with diesel engines this seems a tad low but comparing petrol to diesel readings might be a nio brainer!!!

foot flat to floor on full boost, mine get's to around 4.2v. The MY99 onwards mafs are delicate. so i would say you have some sort of problem.

also, just check the front O2 sensor voltage, this should fluctuate on idle and light throttle and on full boost this should register around .9v, i had a problem with my o2 sensor registering over 1v all the time so it thought it wsa running rich, and tried to compensate for it, so it was lacking power.

Phew, it's not just me getting used to it then!!

As you've both said 4V+ I think that'll be the problem!

Cheers! 

with engine off and ignition on the maf voltage for a brand new maf should be around 1.00volt.. as they slowly fail the voltage increases.. when it gets to 1.08volts think about changing it.. when it gets to 1.1volts deffo time for a replacement.

These guys are usually pretty good as an alternative to dealer, for new parts:
