Recommended max turbine inlet temp for VF22 turbocharger?
Hi all
Does anyone know the max recommended turbine temp from IHI for the VF22 turbo? I typically go for 850C, but i've heard these turbochargers are 'fragile' and would like to find out if there are any special requirements.
Facts only please
Cheers

Not that it answers your question, but my normal temps are around 700C measured at my up pipe, can go up higher with extended periods of hard driving. Did have it up to 900C when I was running a little lean. Back down to 700-750 now. Turbo is a VF29 and is still going.

Nope, no cat. Stainless, unwrapped exhaust manifold and up-pipe too so I don't know how much heat I'm losing before it gets to the turbo. It was mapped at the Scooby Clinic a few years ago, so I'm guessing Pat did the mapping.

hi guys, im potentially buying a P1 with unwrapped equal length headers, and a vf22 roller bearing turbo (plus all decatted).
My question is this... Iv heard the vf22's are a bit weaker than other scooby turbos...I am tempted to have a fmic+Anti lag done on it. Do you think the vf22 would handle the anti lag without over heating and dying?
I would only use it for short time periods and rarely switch it on. [mainly getting it done for higher resale value/desirability].
opinions please????

The compressor wheel of the VF22 is the fragile bit they have a habit of blowing apart, the rear end is as strong as any VF turbo, pre turbo egt's to 850 are "0k", 900 the limit, you could probably excurse for a very brief period.
