Default megarom software

i have a jdm sti my05 going to get a uk fuel map soon. A soon as the warranty is up. Like the sound of megarom features such as per gear boost control and full switchable maps. Is any of these features available on openecu software as i dont really want to go ecutek due to both cost and the fact it is locked. Was going to get a map by dynamix. I really like the idea of 2 maps maybe one for 97 fuel and one for v power. Also can only ecutek dealers program a replacement key.

Only ECUTek I'm affraid. You could ask Duncan to do two maps for you, then you write the ROM you want to use, bit of messing about though! Why do you need a key programmed, the JDM's don't need this done. Just get a blank key and get it cut.

i asked at litchfield about the key was told needs programming. The key i have with the car has a chip in. Not really sure to be honest maybe get a cheap key cut and try it. Bit disapointed about the megarom but a good open source map will do for what i want at the moment. I thought the group n rom would offer similar features.

picture of key, notice in 2nd pic key appears to have a space for transponder. Not same as uk key as no alarm on jdm, but I presume imobilisor is still built in.

Let me know what you think

Unless it's been retro fitted that's just a key. My brother's had two newage JDM's and I've got one, all three had a key that looked like that.

daz as been said that may just be any key you should be able to gently prise the chip carrier open if there is a chip there take it out and see if the car starts, if it does then it doesn't have the cat 2 immobiliser fitted, if it does not work then its immobilised, i know a place in Wolverhampton that can clone the Subaru key transponder , and program it into a new key, or oaken garage charge around £60 to code a key for you and if you need a chip to fit a key, i may have a spare, knocking around.
