Default Clutch Squeaking

When the car warms up,my clutch is squeaking

being hydraulic,im a bit stumped

i have used some silicone lube from halfords on the spring clips i can see, rods etc,but nope, still does it

i have had a new clutch/flywheel fitted about a yr ago,its a 95 classic

i`m thinking the worst, internal bits like release bearing but hoping it could be the slave cylinder on the gearbox ???

any thoughts ?

maybe a re-flush of the 5.1 i fitted 3 yrs ago ?

yeah, sprayed all round there, made for changing gear fun, nice n slippy LOL

it`s definately inside the engine bay, with the driver door open,i operate the clutch and can clearly hear the noise alot louder inside the engine bay, havent got the missus to operate clutch while i have my head in the bonnet yet,but dont want to remove the TMIC if i cant adjust anything and i need a new slave cylinder

i sprayed the silicone stuff around the spring above the gearbox, the slave cylinder etc but still does it

doesnt do it when cold, only when warmed up

bloody thing

sounds like it could be making the noise on the clutch fork pivet bush,if the grease gets dry it can cause a noise mate, its the one you access through the allen keyed headed bolt on the side of the gear box

Mine does something very similar but sounds more in the footwell than in the engine bay.
Got it looked at while under warranty and they greased it, didnt make a blind bit of difference. Its not obtrusive, just can hear it when parking or going slowly with no road/engine noise.

What year is yours? Mines a '56 hawk.

you have to remove the slave cylinder and then the allen key headed bolt, then spin 6mm bolt up the centre of the bush[it has athread in it which you can put one of the rocker cover bolts up]and with draw the bush, clean it up and regrease then grab hold of the clutch arm/fork and guide the bush back in and reasemble, ill pm you a pick of the allen keyed bolt mate.

Out of this pic, what part needs greasing/am i removing if i can ?

Parts 30550 (allen head) i guess ?
30530 is the bit that needs greasing ?

looking at the pic, cant work out how it comes out, unless im reading what you typed wrong.

Edit - taking another look, are you on about putting a threaded bolt into part 30532,pulling that out, then the part 30530 is able to be pulled out ? and this is the bit with the bush on ?
But it looks like there is a spring clip that can only be taken off with the box out ? part 051905320(1) ???

Looking at this pic, this can only be the part to squeak really ?

cheers

alright rig,the part you need to remove and grease mate is 30532 that is the bush i rever to mate,it gets dry and makes a noise as the clutch arm/fork 30530 rotates onit so remove the allen key bolt 30550 and get one of the rocker cover bolts which fits in the thread of 30532 and pull it out and clean and regrease, then reasemble mate and it should sort it.

spot on, thanks bud

1.When you refer to a rocker cover bolt, do you mean remove one from the side of the engine, that says 16valve on it and use that ?

2.if so,i guess i just screw it in a few turns and wiggle it out ?
3.Does that spring clip just unclip/reclip into place ?

hard to believe these engine have rockers LOL,not fiddled with them since old mini, cortina etc engiens LOL

cheers again for your help

there isnt any rockers mate lol im just old school myself and refer to it as that its actually cam cover but who care ah lol,and yes one of the bolts out of that cover with 16 vavle on it as the thread matches and id turn it in there agood few turns as you dont want to pull the thread and it may take abit of pulling as its gone dry but it will come and asembly will be easy once cleaned and greased.
And which spring clip are you refering to mate?

that spring clip,on the diagram is 051905320(1) on the microfiche software i have it calls it a spring clip, dunno if it just clips into place/unclips as you pull itout etc, just didnt want to pull that rod out and then find i had to disaseemble the box to get a clip in LOL

what kind of grease is good to use, i have normal gold grease for wheel bearings etc and also have some C.V grease or some other ?

id use the cv joint grease as that is designed for high temps and load and that clip is actually a roll pin in the gear box as theres a cut out in the end of the bush that slips in the roll pin to stop it from rotating,it wont move or drop out so dont worry about that bit and no worries mate it nice to help some one out and save them a few quid.

In the end,i just used a silicone based lube and sprayed it around the outside of the rubber cover (moving it out the way of course) to let it run down the 30530 in the diagram above, seemed to work

cheers
