Exclamation MY99/00 REAR DOORCARD/OUTSIDE HANDLE REMOVAL...???

As per title.

I need to remove the driver's side rear doorcard and outside handle, so that a PDR company can get to a small pin dent on the outer door skin.

Can anyone walk me through the procedure?

Thanks.

There is one crosshead screw 'inside' the door release and then one or two others hidden behind little blanks which you can prise out with a smallish screwdriver to access the screws.
This done you can then ease the doorcard off from the bottom, working your way up both sides to free off the poppers.
The top of the card by the window glass is 'hung' on the door frame so when the screws and then the poppers have been released the card can be eased upwards to free it from the door.

From memory there's next to nothing to it. Couple of screws I think - one behind a cover that pops off with a screwdriver, one in the doorhandle I think. Doorhandle surround unclips if you squeeze and pull a little. Then some pop clips around the bottom half of the doorcard. When they're loose, slide it upwards to release the bit from next to the window.

The exterior handle just got a couple of bolts holding it in. Easy to remove. The linkage is a bit fiddly to get at through the gaps but it can all be done - even by your manservant.

Cool - just like my old 1993 car's front cards, then. Cheers dudes.

Just one question: where is the screw that's "behind a cover" sited?

BTW SP, that last statement just sounds all wrong.

as above very easy but only 1 thing to add that the two ten mm headed bolts that hold the handle on can become rusted/seized so dont just rip tear at it as there metal inserts in the plastic handle that can turn in the plastic and bugger the handle mate

...So plenty of WD40 on the handle bolts, then leave for 20mins, first?
