Default my wife says im daft what do you think ?

i was just weighing up what owning the car costs me

insurance £1445.00 a year ( only if paid in full )

fuel £50.00 a week

2 services a year @ £125.00 + vat each

tax £222.75 ( for 6 months )

cleaning products, tyre's, breaks, repairs, mods.

i have to agree on paper i/we must all be mad , but then you sit in the drivers seat, drop the right boot and all the doubts dissapear when you hear the sweet scooby engine notes........

Good questions, but not really technical ones I'd suggest. Unless you want a way of sorting your Mrs out.

£1445 a year on insurance!!!!!! Think you need to talk to Gary at Keith Michaels, post's as MoleyWRX on here. I have 400bhp+ and less than £600. So worth a try.

Im glad i don't run it daily anymore.
I never realy thought much about the cost. It just cost what it cost and i paid the bills.
Currently the scoobies running costs are £0 fuel £0 road tax £0 insurance. As for mods well this year about £25k here is a pick of the work in progress

Your service cost is way too low - have you thought of cam belt changes and "all fluids replacements" coming up

Mine used to be along similar lines, but I can tell you now that I am *SO* happy that I now have a daily driver diesel... spend 40 quid a week on fuel instead of 120, and to be honest the diesel is more fun, more comfortable and handles better at the speeds I get to do on the commute than the subaru.
