just dont push to hard and dont run for short periods of time because u need to bed the rings in and not glaze the bores with short trips, change the oil after 500 miles but id like to think to builder will give arun down on all the procedure mate.

Start it with mineral oil, let it warm up and check for leaks then low boost. Do plenty of runs up to 2/3 revs then let it run down in gear, over and over. After a couple of hundred miles dump the oil out, put your regular in and give it some.

Alternatively, let it warm up and kick its head in. This is how OEMs do it.

ha, i work in a car factory, and the cars literaly, come off the production line, run over geometry, then 7 miles in rolling road, undertray fit, then road test where they have their ***** thrashed off, red lined every gear to around 160mph. quite bad really... altho the engines are dyno'd before we get them, but not 1000 miles worth.

I was told at a very big factory where engines were made (the name escapes me but it was in the north east ) that they assembled them, put them on the bench and gave them hell. The ones that were still in one piece passed quality control.

Also, every month they'd take a random new built engine and run it at high load and high cycling revs for 24hrs (), then strip it down just to see what happened.

The idea is that if something's wrong, then being gentle with it is just going to put off the failure. It's either built right or wrong, the only issue is bedding the rings.

just seems wierd to me that a small bike engine builder knows more that the word's motor manufactuers, which have all the money in the world, and literily spend BILLIONS on reasearch & development... interesting
