guys, after 3 days im pulling my hair out, help please.
right guys ive bought a 95 wrx to give the missus and when i bought it, it was dragging air in through the inlet manifold gaskets. so when i stripped it all down the gaskets were shot at.
so i replaced and rebuilt. turned it over and the car ran like a dream, left it to idle to get upto temp to check for water blockage etc and all was good, so i ran down the road, got about half a mile and the car just died.
so i checked just about everything, fuel pressure everything. the car was turning over, trying to fire and then dying. after checking everything i decided to strip everything down again.
i checked everything and put back together, i fired the car up and it ran again, sweet as a nut. for about 5 minutes. then it died again.
im now at the end of my teather, and dont know what to check.
the car has a fuelab pressure guage and that reads 3 bar when at key position 2. the fuel pipes coming out of the filter are pressured up.
ive unplugged crank and cam sensor. ive cracked the injector rail nuts off at number 2 pot and there is fuel at that one. i havnt checked the rest.
im well untruly stuck now, its winding me up. surely i cant have got something wrong twice????????
any help or suggestions would be greatful.

just unplugged the crank sensor, cam sensor and coolant temp sensor one by one, and when unplugged the car just wont run.
the two times i built the inlet manifold back up the car has ran perfect for 5-10 minutes, then died after, both times. so its something thats shutting the engine down, the car tries to fire again but just wontfire and run, if i keep tapping the revs when firing then it will try and rev, but as soon as i stop, it cuts out again.

Could you possibly have a couple of coil packs that are dying when hot? What condition are they in?

My temp sensor failed cold, the PFC thought it was -46C. Problem was it only failed when the coolant was hot, so ran fine for 5-10 mins whilst getting up to temp, then car choked itself on fuel, then wouldn't restart. if i left it for an hour or so the car had cooled down enough for the sensor to work again.
