Default Can I have my 300bhp without the noise??

Hi Guys,

Not long had my '97 WRX STi which is running 300bhp.

The current exhaust is 3" straight through (and drops to 62mm in the centre for the cat - which I'd love to remove but then the noise will increase?) and the tail pipe is 5".

I want to keep the power but not the drone. I carry our 7 week old baby in the car and we think the drone gives her a headache.

What are my options? I want the power without the noise.....

Any help or opinions would be very much appreciated!

Rich.

Which backbox have you got? I would either change the backbox or get a bung, although a bung may have a slight effect on the power

No idea which back box is on it. All I know is it's 3" inlet and 5" tail. I don't think it's branded.

If I get an HKS silent high power box, can I decat it too or will that put me back at square one?

Wow that looks great.

Looks like that could produce a pleasant noise level in the car?

I can say from personal experience, it is very pleasant in the car with one fitted. I have one as my winter back box

Thanks ever so much mate.

Just phoned up and ordered one. It'll be here tomorrow.

I'll let you know how I get on with it!

Thanks again, really appreciate it!

Rich.

I'd love one of these on my wagon.

I see mongoose do a very similar 3" quiet system, slip jointed too.
