castrol easter 10w60???
i know that this kind of thread have been posted lot of times
but my mechanic recommends me this oil, is it worth?
engine is completly modded.

depending on spec and use of engine, then 10w60 isnt the best choice of oil as it has a large operating range which means it will in effect break down quicker.
Search out some posts on here by oilman and that will explain it all.

Yes, just playing with your spelling of ester (chemical description of some of the synthetic molecules used) you used in the thread title.
Your oil requirements depends on usage, so hard to say. But a 60 weight oil is really only needed for prolonged track use or high speed runs IMO, if your car is a highly modified road car that sees occaisional track then i would go for a 10w50, Silkolene Pro S is my choice.
If its only slightly modded and doesn't see tracks then any decent 10w40

Basically the hotter they get, the thinner they get - 40 or 50 is the viscocity at 100 degrees C, however on track you can get oil temps higher than that - what is the viscocity of the 40 weight oil at 120 deg C?
