Question

Hiya guys!

An oilchange is coming up...anyone that's tried Castrol's Formula RS 0W-40?
A mate of mine tried it recently, and I'm trying to get more input in the matter...

Regards

Jerry.
I think the general concencus is that like Monil 1, it's too thin.
The 10w-60 version would probably be a safer bet.

Exclamation

Mobil 1 0W40 is not too thin.

You need to consider the environment that the oil is being asked to operate under before you can determine the most logical oil choice.

OK then Mike, Subaru UK don't recommend it over here because it's too thin, sorry!
Perhaps Jerry should ask all the other Swedish people on this bbs?

Cool

That's OK.

They don't recommend it because it hasn't been tested and approved by them, not because it is not good enough, or too thin Etc.
