I have had unichip fitted on my sti3, before it was fitted there was a surge of acceleration from 3000 rpm ,since it has been fitted acceleration does not seem so good and doesn't seem to come in till 4000 rpm although the power may last a bit longer I'm not sure.Is this how it has been programmed?
Is it chageable through mapping
any comments on having a unichip fitted to an sti or P1
Is this how its going to be

Wink

If it is a programable chip it should show gains throughout the rev range & improved drivability.
Did you buy it new & was it set up by a Uni-Chip dealer using a rolling road.

Thumbs up

Subster,

Powerstation are a Unichip dealer, they should be able to re-map it for you - prob cost you circa £200ish, I had Unichip in my MY99 Sti-v before having Link installed a couple of months ago and never had the symptoms you've got m8....

You shouldn't have starting problems as the Unichip doesn't touch start-up, idle, cold start etc. Ii lets the standard ECU deal with this.

I would guess that something has happened during the fitting that is causing the problems. I would go back to the fitter and explain the problems.

Cheers

Subster, take the car back as Ian rightly says, doesn't sound like it's installed properly, also should really be setup on a Rolling Road, hence why Powerstation costs a bit of wedge to map it, but if it's done right you shouldnt have those symptoms you have got.

Catflap, I'll mail you are I don't want to steal Substers thread

They had a rolling road to set it up on but said they couldn't get any figures as the air intake temperature was too high
I have spoke to them today and I am going back in a couple of weeks (my fault for delay not theirs)

Not sure if this list is exhaustive: http://www.dastek.co.za/uk_dealer_list.htm

If unsure, contact Gerry at Storm Eng. (top of the list), he will sort you out.

Cheers
