Default MAF sensor question.

I have just had my rough running problem diagnosed as a dodgy maf sensor.
I have found a few on ebay.
My car has green label sensor with the number 22680 aa160 on it,
Do i need to replace it with the same sensor?
I have seen one with an orange label for an sti (mine is an import 96 wrx) will this one work?

Any help would be appreciated.

you have to replace it with a green label maf, fitting another type of maf with out remapping the car, will result in it going bang!

I found plenty of used green maf's on ebay when I was looking for an orange one the other week, thats if you want to risk a second hand one.

Just remember to to do an ecu reset after fitting one, scared the brown stuff out of me when mine run worse after fitting a working replacement , until i did a reset then all was fine

Good luck mate.

Thanks for the advice, i found 1 on ebay for £30 with all the same numbers and green sticker.
Hopefully this will sort my fuel bill and flat spot out, its been getting worse for a few weeks now.
Thought it might be something more expensive.
Thanks again.

Theres an orange label on ebay finnishing at 18.10 on 2nd feb and its at 99p now

If it don't sort it, then suspect the lambda O2 sensor...

New maf sensor turned up today and fitted,
rough running is sorted and fuel consumption seems better.
Thanks to everyone for their advice.
