Rear Bumper Removal Question
I found this using search:
I'm slightly confused by it, firstly it mentions:
"Three large bolts in box section under rear body, each side of spare wheel bay, undo all six(two of them hold the rubber mount for the exhaust)." This doesn't make sense to me, can anyone expain please, it mentions 3 and then jumps to 6?!
"6mm bolt at bottom of bumper just behind rear wheel." What each side?
Thanks
Just incase anyone does a search in the future.

* Plastic screw at top of bumper just behind rear wheel, wouldnt unscrew on mine so i just prized them out with large flat screwdriver
After removing all the above, and disconnecting the rear number plate lights from just inside the boot, the rear bumper can now be pulled backwards, away from the car.Easy! ( but not in the dark when i first looked at doing the job )

Lol but it doesn't equal 6. 3 bolts under the rear body and i'm assuming one each side of the spare wheel bay is as well as the other 3, does that not equal 5?
Thanks
Thanks

Halol, okay right:
Three large bolts in box section under rear body = 3
1 each side of spare wheel bay = 2
Total = 5
Am i reading the post wrong?
Ohh hold up does it mean that there is 3 on one side of the spare wheel bay and 3 on the other. Plus the 3 in the box section and then the plastic screw at top of each side of bumper just behind rear wheel?
Ha
Thanks

Sam, look under your car mate.
Rear bumper is held on similar to the front, clipped to the bumper carrier bar.
The bumper carrier bolts to the rear chassis, 2 bolts on each leg, and then theres a bolt on each top corner of the bumper where it meets the rear arch.
This exploded view may help

It's a given that you need to remove the various arch clips and the main bolts where it meets the arch. I won't list these but this is the other parts you need to do, not forgeting to unscrew the number plate light !
When I did mine I undid the bumper bar and shuffled forward...
You can see the clips 4 either side and one in the centre...
Remove...
Reverse to fix back on.

Which ones do you want? The bolts will be avilable for pennies at any nut and bolt stockist, (Yell.com the UK's local business search engine - search for United Kingdom businesses is your friend), and the clips for pence from a Scoob dealership.
