Ive got a smokey impreza 99 , its oil smoke, acrid smelling, does it on start up from cold, or when left to stand for a few hrs, not on normal driving...its not just steam, ive bee led to beleive its quite possibly the oil seals on the turbo, are they east to change > is there any way of determining if it is infact the oil seals?

suppose if you loosen the down pipe off and check to see if you have any oil in the wastegate side or remove the turbo and go get it tested!

am i right in thinking any decent garage should be able to test the turbo, or is it more a specialist Subaru thing ? ive got a good local garage in Hartly Wintney I allways go to for mots etc.. thought id perhaps try them>
